Rental Terms and Conditions

All prices are listed in Euros and include 19% VAT. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash
  • Bank transfer
  • All major credit and debit cards

To rent a vehicle, you must provide:

  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Credit or debit card
  • Copy of booking voucher/e-voucher

A booking confirmation voucher will be sent to you via email as confirmation of your reservation.

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 75 years
  • Experience: Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience
  • International license: Required if your license is not written in Latin letters

Important Notes:

  • Drivers under 25 years old must purchase additional “Young Driver” insurance
  • Arion Car Rental can accommodate drivers under 21 years old – please contact us by phone or email to arrange this

TPI (Third Party Liability Insurance)

  • Coverage: Basic insurance included in rental price covering legal liability to third parties
  • Deductible: Economy cars – €300, Mini-vans – €500
  • Exclusions: Does not cover damage to tires, wheels, glass, or undercarriage

SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)

  • Coverage: Comprehensive coverage without deductible, including wheels, tires, glass, and undercarriage
  • Cost: Economy Class: €15/day (2+ days), €40/day (single day) Mini-van: €20/day (2+ days), €50/day (single day)

Young Driver Insurance : €5 per day (for drivers under 25)
Age Restrictions : Drivers aged 21-25 and 71-75 cannot purchase SCDW or CDW insurance.

ALL insurance types exclude coverage for:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Off-road driving, including Akamas Nature Reserve (€300 fine applies)
  • Driving in occupied northern Cyprus or Akamas National Park
  • Engine, gearbox, or interior damage

Additional Charges Apply For:

  • Wheel damage
  • Vehicle breakdown
  • Battery discharge (due to lights or devices left on)

Service call fees range from €45 to €150 depending on location.

  • Reservations are accepted by car category/group only, not by specific make or model
  • Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same fuel level
  • Fuel level will be documented in the rental agreement

Deposit
A deposit will be charged to the primary driver’s credit card or collected in cash. This deposit covers:

  • Traffic violations
  • Fuel costs
  • Other expenses incurred during rental

The deposit will be returned/released at the end of the rental period.

Fines
You are responsible for all traffic and parking violations during the rental period.

Refund Policy:

  • 72+ hours before pickup: 100% refund
  • 24-72 hours before pickup: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours before pickup: No refund

In case of an accident:

  1. Immediately call the rental company, insurance company, and police
  2. Do not move the vehicle until police and insurance have inspected it
  3. Report all damage to Arion Car Rental

Failure to follow these procedures will void your insurance coverage.

Lost/Damaged Keys: €150 replacement fee

To extend your rental period:

  • Contact Arion at least 24 hours before your rental ends
  • Visit an Arion location to arrange the extension
  • Extensions are subject to vehicle availability

Arion reserves the right to refuse rental extensions if no vehicles are available.

Prohibited: Crossing into Northern Cyprus with rental vehicles. We cannot provide support or insurance coverage for incidents in Northern Cyprus.

Vehicle delivery and pickup: 7 days a week, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (including holidays)

Emergency Response: Assistance provided within 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on location

Our Rental Rules

To ensure a smooth, safe, and respectful rental experience for all, we’ve outlined a few simple rules. Please take a moment to review them — they help us maintain the highest standard of service and vehicle care.

To maintain the interior condition, please avoid entering the vehicle while wearing wet clothing, especially after swimming or exposure to rain. Moisture can cause stains, odors, and damage to the upholstery and electronics.

Driving off-road in the Akamas region is strictly prohibited. If a vehicle is taken off-road, a €250 penalty will apply. In case of breakdown or immobilization, customers must contact a tow service at their own expense.

Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited to ensure the comfort and safety of all customers. Any evidence of smoking, including burns or odors, will result in a cleaning fee and a fine of €150 for upholstery damage.

While our insurance covers many types of damage, full insurance does not cover internal damages to the vehicle such as damage to the audio system, upholstery, or other interior components. Please report any damage immediately.

Please keep the vehicle clean during your rental period. Do not leave used chewing gum, food wrappers, or any other trash inside the car. Any excessive cleaning required after your rental may incur additional fees.

We ask all customers to treat our vehicles with respect and care. This includes careful driving, parking, and avoiding unnecessary wear and tear. Thank you for helping us maintain high-quality vehicles for all customers.
